Multiple-Access Time Hopping and Performance Limits with Pulse Position Modulation
نویسندگان
چکیده
ABSTRA CT— The use of spread spectrum time hopping in combination with pulse position modulation for multiple access communications is studied. The multiple access performance is described in terms of the number of users supported by the system for a given bit error rate and bit transmission rate. Expressions for the maximum number of users and maximum transmission capacity in bits per second are found. Asymptotic values for these quantities are derived.

Performance of Multi Pulse Position Amplitude Modulation for TH IR-UWB Communication Systems
The multi pulse position amplitude modulation scheme for time-hopping multiple access impulse radio ultrawideband communication systems has been presented in this paper. Multi pulse position amplitude modulation is a hybrid modulation technique, which combines multi pulse position modulation and pulse amplitude modulation. It is shown that multi pulse position amplitude modulation significantly...
متن کاملMultiple access performance in UWB systems using time hopping vs. direct sequence spreading
Ultra-wideband radio systems operate using extremely short duration signaling pulses. Spread spectrum techniques for multiple access and interference suppression are commonly considered for such systems. We compare time-hopping spread spectrum with pulse position modulation (TH-PPM) and timehopping/direct-sequence spreading with antipodal signaling (TH/DS-BPSK) in terms of their multiple access...

In this paper we propose frequency and time hopping pulse position modulation (FTH-PPM) ultra wideband (UWB) for multiple access communications. We have derived and investigated the bit error probability for the multi-user synchronous transmitter case in multipath channels with Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). Simulation results show that bit error probability performance of FTH-PPM UWB ou...

In this paper, we address the problem of designing time hopping codes for multiple access communication impulse radio systems. Time hopping techniques are first reviewed, and performance in terms of correlation properties and Power Spectral Density are given. A new family of time hopping codes is presented, and performance are derived. Finally, advantages and disadvantages of different time hop...

In this paper, a kind of impulse radio (IR) 60 GHz pulse based on Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions (PSWF) is proposed. The capacity and performance for multiple access 60 GHz communication system based on carrier pulse and impulse radio pulse are analyzed separately. Both frequency-shifted Gaussian pulse and Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions (PSWF) pulse are considered and devised according to...
